From 4 to 7 May 2026, students of Applied Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University, accompanied by Prof. Barbara A. Jańczak, took part in a study visit to the University of Basel, where they were hosted by Prof. Martin Luginbühl at the Deutsches Seminar. The visit concluded the joint seminar “Migration Discourses in the Digital Sphere: A Comparison between Poland, Germany, and Switzerland.”
During their stay, the students attended lectures and carried out field research on the linguistic landscape of the Swiss-French-German border region. The study trip provided an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of multilingualism, language contact, and European migration discourses, while also allowing them to confront the issues discussed during the seminar with research practice in the field.
